I would prefer not to use the online registration system. Are there other ways to register?
You may call (907) 274-8440 or email institute@alaskageographic.org to begin the registration process. You may opt to pay with cash or check, but your registration will not be confirmed until after full payment has been received. If you are in Anchorage, you may register in person at our office (750 West Second Ave, Suite 100). If you are in Denali National Park and Preserve, you may register in person at the Murie Science and Learning Center (mile 1 of the Park Road).
How do I add my name to a waiting list?
If a course is full, you may add your name(s) to a waiting list by calling 1-866-AK-PARKS or by emailing institute@alaskageographic.org. The waiting list is compiled on a first-come, first-served basis. If space becomes available in the course, you will be contacted directly by the Institute staff. If you choose to register at that time, our staff will assist you with the registration process.
What happens if I am unable to attend a course for which I am registered? What happens if the Institute cancels a course?
Cancellations that occur 30 days in advance of the course start date will be refunded the course fees, less a $25 processing fee. For cancellations within 30 days, the entire fee will be retained unless we can fill your place. If we have to cancel a course, your entire fee will be refunded. Contact our staff to process a cancellation.
How will my refund be processed?
Full or partial refunds will be credited to the credit card used during the original transaction. If registration fees were paid by cash or check, a check will be mailed to you. Refunds may also be applied to course substitutions within the same summer season. Please contact our staff to process a substitution or refund. All membership registrations fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Why do some courses offer a member discount and other courses do not?
Some of our courses are supported by generous grants from our partners. The cost to participants has already been greatly discounted, and therefore we are unable to offer an additional discount. |
