Venture into Prince William Sound 20 years after the oil spill, exploring lingering issues and preventative measures that have since been implemented. Discover ways to incorporate discussion of the 20th anniversary into a classroom setting.

Accreditation
applejpgThe University of Alaska Anchorage offers three professional development credits (level 500). The credit fee has been included in the course fee.

Times and Location
This course begins and ends in Anchorage, with the location to be announced at a later date. This course begins at 10:00 am on the first day and ends at 4:00 pm on the last day.

Hiking Distances and Physical Fitness
boatjpgField Seminars are active learning experiences. Participants must be capable walkers, in good health, and equipped for sudden changes in weather. This course includes up to five miles of hiking and/or 1,500 foot elevation gain per day, over uneven terrain. This course also includes boat-based activities, and participants must be able to transfer between land and small boats.

Lodging and Meals
Accommodations include three nights in hotels, and three nights aboard a charter boat. Sleeping accommodations aboard the charter boat are either in small 2-person berths or common spaces, with access to a community bathroom and a shower. Participants should expect to share a room with one other person during hotel stays. All meals are provided.
